Mom's Cookbook
Mom's Cookbook
This cookbook has been a labour of love for me that started over 25 years ago, but for Mom, it started many years before that!

When I was 14 years old, Mom handed me her many recipes that were scribbled out on scraps of paper and stored in a box and asked me to type them out on my manual typewriter. She gave me a tiny binder with lined paper and the work began. Many of the recipes didn't have instructions because she didn't need them, but I really wish they were there now.

Mom passed away on October 29, 1997 after an 18 month battle with cancer. At that time, the book went missing. Dad looked for it, but he wasn't sure what he was searching for, finally in June 2004, he found it. It just so happened, a friend of mine from my hometown was coming to visit me the same week, so I had her pick it up from him. I didn't want to risk having it shipped in the mail.

Tips to Ponder
I hope you enjoy reading and trying these recipes as much as I've enjoyed typing them out.
I have many cookbooks because I enjoy collecting them but this one is my most cherished cookbook of all. It doesn't have pretty pictures and many of the words are spelled incorrectly but because I made it, it is more special than any other cookbook I will ever own.
